The 3L9M
The only machine I will make now.
The idea of building machines for me was to make a machine that I want to use myself.
Things got a little lost along the way and I was building machines for others that I can’t test myself as they were for tattoos that I don’t do.
The way I tattoo is with a 1203rl and a 1209mag. Hence (3L9M). That’s it.
This machine will do both, AND , I’m able to properly test it before I send it out, therefore I can 100% stand behind it.
The combination I have discovered with this set up is perfect for me and how I like to tattoo. A large armature bar , allowing a slower heavier hit, a 22uf capacitor which gives the consistency I want along with not allowing the machine to be too slow to line with.
The 10 layer coils to give the voltage range I require for a variety of applications and techniques. And the spring set up to allow the tension and give I need to be hybrid machine.
Visually the Col Todd style machine to me is the most visually pleasing tattoo machine ever made , so I took inspiration from that style, but used my own frame geometry and made the 3L9M with a longer base with a front vice for both visual and practicality preferences.
For 16years I have searched for the perfect tattoo machine, and although I have discovered that the perfect machine dosnt exist, I feel that this is the closest I have got for my way of tattooing
